Barbara Ann (Niemann) Lutes, age 48, formerly of Underwood, Iowa, passed away in Dallas, Texas, on Aug. 24, 2006. She was born Sept. 18, 1957, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to the late Fred and Ruth (Bondo) Niemann. Barbara graduated from Underwood High and worked as a program designer for Federal Express in Texas. She is survived by son, Jason Lutes, and friend, Kris Robertin; granddaughter, Piper Lutes; father of Jason, Derk Lutes; mother, Ruth Niemann of Council Bluffs; sisters, Charlotte Ganfield of Waterloo, Iowa, Gwen Strauss of Grand Rapids, Mich.; brothers, Robert Niemann of Underwood, Richard Niemann and Fred Niemann of Omaha.

Visitation with the family, Friday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral services, Saturday, 10 a.m., Underwood Lutheran Church. Interment in Fisher Cemetery, Underwood, followed by a luncheon at the church. Family suggest memorials to the Underwood Lutheran Church.
